The Future of the Past
I'm concerned that I've written myself into a corner here. I don't see a path yet that makes me happy, that I think would make you happy, and would maintain the integrity of the story.
Just an update.

Lady Gertrude Waverleigh,

Although I have served under you but a few months, I have come to appreciate your leadership and ability to take command of the many odd or unusual situations we have encountered in our time together. After our most recent mission, I must admit that I am not the right man for this job, as I have neither provided security or protection for our unit at any time since we arrived in Cardiff. Therefore, I must at this time tender my resignation from the unit to allow someone more suited to the role take it on. Please be assured that I continue to hold you in the highest esteem.

Episode Eleven--Behold the Pale Horse
It had been a long ride back to Cardiff, and Lady Waverleigh was relieved to be back at the warehouse. But as she stepped through the door, there seemed a death-like stillness fell on her. That stillness did not seem disturbed by the subdued sobs she could hear somewhere further in, as if people were weeping. She frowned, passing the long billowing black curtains which screened the sunlight and cast eerie shadows as she moved up and down the warehouse 'corridors', looking for the source of these sounds.
She moved on, down the stairs into the sub-basement and then through the trap door into the lab. The sound grew no louder, but no living person was in sight. Doctor Proud was not in the submersible bay. Marian and Eileen were not keeping watch over the multigraph. Donnal and Sergeant McKee were not standing near the tea kettle casually ignoring each other. The medical center was sterile and spotless. The morgue lay silent, one door gaping open. The same mournful sounds of distress met her as she moved along, but the mourners were invisible.
Her agitation rising, She threw open the door to the holding cells, dashing down the steps. There at the bottom, in one of the cells, was a fine oaken casket. On top of it, a handkerchief to her face, sat Esme, her curly brown hair tied back in a severe funereal bun. She lifted her tear stained face as Lady Waverleigh entered and tried to smile.
"Who is it?" demanded Lady Waverleigh, her voice cracking, "Who is dead here, and why?"
Esme shook her head, laying a hand tenderly on the casket as a tear dropped anew from her eye. "It is the Director of Torchwood Three," she said.
And when the train hit a bump, she found herself suddenly awake but still in that muddled half-way realm. They were nearing Paris, and soon they would be home. The sooner the better, as far as she was concerned. Everyone was having unpleasant dreams, even if they didn't admit it. Well, everyone except Eileen, she imagined, and even she was growing short tempered and looking rather drawn. It was a shame that Smith man had to see the team like this, and she quite honestly wished he'd stayed in Cairo.
It would be ignorant superstition to say that this trip had a blight laid on it. And at the same time, the sooner it ended the better for all involved.

Mixing it up
Since I still haven't written tomorrow's episode or the season finale, of course I'm thinking "Mix Disc!"

So it looks like Laurie's going to be in town only one day next week that is open to the general public (i.e. everybody but her boyfriend) and of course that's Monday night. I know we're scheduled to play that night and I haven't missed a single game, but...well it's my last chance to see Laurie this year and...yeah. I don't suppose a game reschedule is even vaguely possible?

Dearest Esme: my team does not fear me enough (Session 9, 11/24/08)
24th April 1920

Dearest Esme:

I find that I have been taking the wrong model of leadership; that is, I have been modelling myself as near as I could on Lawrence, when I should rather have been recalling my Machiavelli. Simply put, my team does not fear me enough.

Next Week on Roaring Torchwood
People said there was no way to top the two-part episode--Aliens, spaceships, dead men brought to life by technology, Bolsheviks, bunnies!--but just wait until Monday. Ghosts created from events in the past meet with visions from days ahead in the present time. Tune in and see "Back From the Future".

(Yeah, I think I can actually name the episode before the session. I'm feeling bold and apparently I'm daring y'all to fuck that up.)

Episode Eight--PGRW: Stuff that should have come up.
Blinovitch had significant burns on his hands and arms--they don't look chemical or thermal, they most resemble electrical burns. Marian wasn't close enough to notice, but Proud probably saw them before he was shot.

And another Wiki thing.

Since I don't already spend too much time on the game, I thought I'd put together a wiki. This allows me to do things like keep a list of supporting characters we've met (currently sorted by episode, maybe alphabetically later), possibly store the episode summaries and whatever else people can think of.
Because the key here is that it's a wiki--you can edit it too. (I'm still learning the code but really I plan to work on it soon.) I think you need to request an invitation in order to edit it, but that should be easy.
Episode Eight, tomorrow! More supporting cast members than ever before!

Episode Seven--Prelude
Eileen approaches Marian, and then Waverleigh, about a problem she has.
She takes sustenance from emotions, and without the telepathic link the quality is greatly diminished. She attempted to talk to Proud, but he was far too pig headed and difficult to allow her to bring him pleasure. And so, starving, she is looking for another avenue. Because Proud is stubborn and unhelpful.
Lady Waverleigh suggests that, now that Eileen is drawing a salary, she can use those funds to.... procure a temporary friend who would allow Eileen to bring her pleasure. Eileen asks Donall to help her by carrying the money, and Donall is happy to be of service.

Weapons Locker
I believe we've determined that there is a weapons locker at T3. I'm fairly certain SSgt. McKee has inventoried it, probably on a weekly basis. Would it be possible to have the contents listed here, or is it more of a "if you need it, it's there" kind of locker?
